"Every other part of the world is moving so slowly (in this area). I believe the infrastructure will be in place in China faster than anywhere else, and autonomous and electric vehicles will follow the same path. I also believe China is ahead of the game right now, ahead of everybody else, with the amount of investments they are putting in, as well as the cars that are produced now," he said.
"Entering the video conferencing sector, we will not offer any hardware products. Instead, we will focus on providing the platform and standard software as a services, dedicated to connecting people, devices, conference rooms and maintaining strong communications," Wu said during the launch event on Wednesday in Beijing.
"Disruption to everyday life may be severe," she warned at a news conference.
"Even though there will be demand growth, the price of memory chips will decline rapidly, which will in turn lead to revenue decline in the field," she added.
"Every 100 Chinese households in rural areas owns 43.8 units of air conditioners, while each (group of) 100 urban families has 124 units. In Japan, every 100 households owns 272 units of air conditioners, so China's air conditioner market still has a lot of room to grow," said Yang Jie, general manager of industry consultancy ChinaIOL, adding the rural and urban markets show different demand characteristics.
